Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September

On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September we will be hosting our first short film festival to celebrate short film making talent. The unique setting of the garden will provide the backdrop for a range of short films to be shown, which will be selected from an open submission.

The garden presents a truly aesthetic experience, invoking admiration for the power of nature as we witness its attempts to reclaim man’s previous dominance. This canvas of disintegration provides the inspiration for artists of all types to escape the confines of reality and let their imagination roam.

Liberty through imagination short film festival is a call to film makers to submit films which demonstrate originality, intuition and authenticity of emotion.

If you’re a film maker who would like to submit a film, please complete the submission form and return it to us along with your film – please see www.libertythroughimagination.co.uk for full details. Deadline for submissions is 30 June 2012.

Films will be screened onsite from 2pm to 8pm. Bookings to attend the screening will be open from 1 August 2012.

Artist in Residence Art Exhibition

The third Luton Hoo Walled Garden artists in residence exhibition took place from 9th September to Friday 23rd September 2011. The exhibition show cased the final art works of the eleven artists who had been selected for the 2011 artists in residence programme.

The exhibition celebrated this unique setting with a display of site-specific art that had been inspired by each of the individual artists’ relationship with the space, history or character of the garden.

Over the course of five months, each artist had developed an intimate relationship with a different aspect of the garden, which they transformed through their art practice to produce a site-specific output.
